Ok, so your ready to give the short term rental markets shot. You've run your projections, you've closed on your house, and now its on to the fun part: decorating. Guests renting Airbnb's want to feel like home in your house. In fact, they expect it.
Your house needs to meet equipped with all the supplies that guests need to make a meal, perform self care, and stay entertained. Having the right supplies is the difference between getting lack luster 4 start reviews and blown away 5 star reviews. Below is a list of all of our favorite tried and tested supplies we purchase for our clients when setting up their home as a short term rental. We've also included a downloadable checklist at the bottom of the page that will give take your # of rooms and # of quests your home accommodates and automatically calculates how many of each item you need.

The Kitchen
Many guests book an Airbnb instead of a hotel because they want the option to cook home made meals. With that being said, they need the correct supplies. Nothings worse than going to open a can of beans and not having a can opener!
The Bathrooms
Self care is important while on vacation so we highly recommend providing shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to guests. Its the #1 forgot item packed! Its important to buy decent quality towels because they will be washed A LOT. Cheap towels will show wear and tear quickly. Below are the towels we use in our own and clients Airbnb's as well as some of our other favorite items.
The Bedrooms
Throwing a queen size bed into a room and calling it a day will not result in decent occupancy or good reviews. Each bedroom should be decently decorated and have its own character. Make sure there is a cohesive theme throughout each room. Having one room farmhouse rustic and the other modern will have your guests choosing your competitor over you.
The Living Room
The family room is where your guests will come together to spend time with each other so making it comfy is important. Make sure there is enough seating to accommodate your occupancy number. Include games, cards, and other small entertainment items go a long way and set your home apart from the competition.
Outdoor
Backyard entertainment can make all the difference in a quest experience, especially if your home is one suitable for children. Often, the extras like backyards game is what pushes a guest to choose your house over a competitors. I know its been a deciding factor for me when choosing which Airbnb to rent out.
